Celestron has not gone out of Business they are still there. Its
Tasco that went under. Tasco was just a holding company for Celestron, it was
like a bank. It was the mismanagement and creed of the CEO and board of
directors for Tasco that caused it to go under. Celestron portion will be
sold to help make good on Tasco debts to its creditors. Its more valuable as
an asset intact than closing it down and taking apart and selling it off
piecemeal as some wags has suggested. This sort of thing goes on all the time
with venture capitalists and bean counters. If you really want to know where
the money went for Tasco probe the CEO and board of directors. I bet they
bought themselves some fancy properties throughout the Caribbean and Bahamas.
Now they are bankrupt, so what! This is just another example of what you call
corporate raiders. GE, Honeywell, TRW, GM and the whole gamut of corporations
do this all the time. Welcome to Corporate America.
