I inserted strips of tape with tweezers into the slot, and it works great.
I made a filter holder by making a reducer ring to attatch a 48mm filter
over the film holder - with NO filter in it. Then, you can screw into its
threads a real filter of the same size. I can do this in my dark changing
box with no problem for tri color work.

I'm assuming you are using gelatin filters and not mounted glass filters????
It has been my experience that glass filters are too thick for use with the
steep light cone of Schmidt Cameras.
