Hi Lydia,

If the E screen you have is the original E screen made for the F2, then the 
Beattie screen will be brighter.

The new C and D screens for the F 3 are brighter than the old E screen too, 
but don't fit the F2.  Some people have swapped the glass from the new 
screen into the frame of the old screen to make it fit the F2.  I 
personally haven't done it, I would definitely be extra careful to check 
the accuracy of the focus if you do that.

The Nikon D screen is just as bright as the Beattie and much less 
expensive, but as Robert has noted, it works best on long lenses.
