If Mike's Meade EP is like the corded one I used to use, the lowest
brightness available with the keypad brightness control is still much too
bright. I ended up cutting off the cord, and soldering the wires via a
RadioShack 10K rheostat to a 3 volt photo battery. Kludgy but worked much
better for faint stars. Then I switched to an Orion cordless and that works
fine as is.
