Re: [APML] Need Help With Meade 9mm Guiding Eyepiece
Mike,
You don't have a variable brightness adjuster for the reticle illuminator? You can buy one at www.kendrick-ai.com. Dimming the reticle should allow you to see guide stars.
I would ditch the vibration pads. They may work well for visual, but for imaging, you want to minimize flexure.
The excessive vibration of your system is a problem. Your mount (or they way you have it configured) may not have the stability you need for longer focal lengths.

Under normal observing magnification (80x), my obvious vibrations seem to damp within a couple seconds. I had success guiding exposures while piggy backing with a 300mm zoom Lens (test shots with and without guiding show clear difference), but I am concerned about prime focus. I am using a Meade LX90, with counter weights and vibration pads.
