Thanks Jim!
So it would appear there is a sequence that has to be followed, or one can get in trouble.
Steve Walters reported he was occasionally able to get the -V to work, but couldn't explain why.

Let me double check the process you use--sorry I don't have mine here to walk thru the steps.
Select Manual calibration, full menu.
Yes

Select star manually
either manual or auto will work if all you want to do is independent calibration.

Select a slew interval e.g.: 10 seconds
Fine

Select Relays 12
Yes

Select Next
Yes

When +/- slew of Relays 12 is complete
go back and select a new slew interval e.g.: 15 seconds
Select Relays 34
Select Next
Yes

When +/- slew of Relays 34 is complete--what next?
ST-V will report calibration sucessful and diplay the relay movement lines

View motion (?) followed by "Track"?
After sucess just go to track

I have company coming for the weekend, or I'd be out trying it tonight.
I need to get this sorted out before next new moon!!!

Hopefully this will solve it........    Jim

Thanks again Jim--I really appreciate your help!!
Steve
