Jim,

If someone takes a picture of a celestial object, or
event, they have taken an astrophoto. Does that make
them an 'astrophotographer'? In this case... not in my
opinion. Many people try to photograph events. Say
someone takes pictures at the Super Bowl. Is that
person now a sports photographer? No, just a spectator
with a picture.
