[APML] CD disc as viewing media for eclipses

Hello All
My wife reported to me that someone in her office shared some info that is
disturbing to me and I am sure to fellow astro gazers
It seems someone on national TV advised the public it was safe to view the
eclipse through a CD. She didn't get an affiliate call sign, but several
people in the office went out and viewed with them. Did anyone else see this
news flash? Is this possible? I would never do this myself under any
circumstance, but??
