The neg. was about
1.5 stops darker, measured cave man style.
If you mean the
UNexposed part of the negative, better stick with your present developing
time.
I didn’t use any
filter, I don’t have the film holder for filters (next on my list of stuff to
figure out). I am hoping I can find filters that won’t change the focus.
The good news is if
you do find some, you will be an astrophotography hero to us all. The
bad news is that such an animal does not exist. A filter, of any
thickness, will shift the Schmidt's focus by a certain calculatable
amount. I am still researching what must be done to make a white light
holder work with a filter. There is a blurb on my web site about that,
but I remain a bit skeptical about what I put there. I need to tinker
with my own camera when I put the mirror back in and see how much focus
shift is involved with Wratten filters.
Great article on the
Schmidt’s Thanks. O.K. I’ll use
the setting circles to frame my shots.
You are off on a
rip-roaring start. I think you will do fine with it as you get more
hands on experience.
