Re: [APML] Calibrating STV axes independently
Hi Jim--I would have liked to still be away, but high winds blew me off the
mountaintop!
In the manual calibration mode, there are 3 options:
A) Relays 1234
B) Relays 12
C) Relays 34
I suspect my problem is in how I do these steps.
It seems that what you're saying is to do step B, and then do Step C.
Perhaps it was my sleep deprived mind, but it seemed that when I would do
that, and then select to Track mode,
I would get an error message saying "Calibration not performed".
I would expect I am supposed to press "Next" at the end of steps B and C,
and at completion of step C pressing "Next" would bring up the window to
review the motions achieved in each axis. That didn't seem to happen. I
ended up using "Auto", and ignoring the "Speeds" message. Guidescope is
135 mm f2.8 telephoto, and what I wanted to do was 30 seconds in RA, and 10
seconds in DEC. resulting motions in "Auto" mode were 5 pixels in RA, and
25 pixels in Dec.
I'd be happy to take this off line if its of no interest to anyone except
me and Steve W.
Steve
(ps: If you check your other e-mails, I identified the flasher you imaged,
and sent you the relevant data)
