It's a nice lens but useless for astro photography. The color correction is for haze penetration. with filters you might be able to use it for Black and white naro band photos.

Trawling through Ebay I just came across a real whopper of a lens. It is a 36" (914mm) f4 Perkin Elmer. My guess is it was a mapping camera. The objective is 9" across. It would be fun to own and make an amazing astrograph but it also weighs 300lb so no commercial mount I know of would hold it. The item number and URL are below.
