[APML] wide-field images

Hello,

Today the two 8" x 12" prints I've ordered were finally ready. These are
prints of 60x45-mm slides (Kodak E-200) and I have to say they've done a
good job at the development central. Within a few weeks a friend of
mine, who owns a 6x6 film scanner, will scan some slides for me.
Nevertheless I have been able to scan the prints myself with my simple
flatbed scanner. It took some time and the highest resolution my
computer (memory) can handle is 300 DPI. Yep, being a student and
spending all my money on astro-stuff and a new car, I don't get the
change to replace my Pentium-90 with 24 MB RAM and 15-inch monitor (I
work 12 hours/week in a grocer's shop; full-time during hollidays). The
highest possible screen resolution I can achieve is 800x600 pixels,
16-bit colors. I always wonder if my images looks as good (or poor) on
those fancy high-resolution LCD screens.
