They did make them, but I haven't seen one either.
Then there were the JSO Schmidt's. JSO was a Japanese company that made many
different scopes, including several Schmidt cameras. The JSO Schmidt's had an
ingenious built in shutter, which covered the mirror and flopped/folded
against the tube wall to uncover the mirror. I haven't seen one of those
either.
