Re: [APML] Pentax 67 accessory hole purge port

Bobby, I drilled that one too. Drilling into a camera is a hideous feeling
but we need to do it. I used a really thin drill - maybe about 1mm or
1/25th" (I know there is no such unit but you get the drift). I did about
five separate runs, each a bit deeper than the last. Between each one, I
tried to blow through the hole. Finally I got through and I knew I hadn't
gone too far. Some posts here gave me the impression that a few members like
to drill all the way into the light path but I found you can get the gas
through by just getting through the first, thick piece of aluminium. Do a
search on the archive, there is quite a bit of info that helped me heaps
when I did my camera a few months ago.

PS: I found a great plastic pipe at a garden centre. It is exactly the same
size as the hole, wont leak and stays in without the need of a screw thread.
They used it for pumping water into fountains. Maybe they have it in the US.

Regards

Monte
