[APML] guiding the fsq106 (was Returning to AP - scope advice)

I agree about the importance of the mount. I'm going with the G-11. If I
choose the FSQ106, I'm interested in the guiding options people have
chosen. It appears that the tube assembly may be a bit short to use the
universal dovetail plate and rings with a guide scope on top. Seems like
the side-by-side saddles might be the best option for guiding the tak with
a separate guide scope on the G-11. I saw a bit of discussion in the
archives about mounting the tak, but the guiding methods weren't indicated.
I've used off-axis in the past but prefer a separate guide scope.

Thanks again,

Joel

Joel,

The mount is the most important piece of equipment for AP. I would focus
more energy on that.

Both the NP101 and FSQ106 are Petzval designs and around f/5. They cost
about the same. They both deliver flat focal surfaces.

A wide T-mount is available from Tak that vignettes less on 35mm. The Tak
also has a nice camera angle adjuster. The Tak supports medium format.
