RE: [APML] Telescopes

Hi again Hope,

I don't think I was supportive enough in my first reply to your post, so
I'll try again.

Yoy say you're new to the list, WELCOME! You don't say if you're new to
astronomy or astrophotography. If you're new to astronomy I'd like to
recommend two excellent entry-level ( mostly plain english ) books: The
Backyard Astronomer's Guide by Terence Dickinson & Alan Dyer and Spendors Of
The Universe by Terence Dickinson & Jack Newton. Both cover a lot of ground
and will help point you in the direction you want to go. The second has a
good chapter on CCD's.

When you're ready for photography check out Michael Covington's books.

Mostly, don't buy something just to buy something. Figure out what you need,
research the subject, then you can make a smart purchase. Patience helps,
Hope.

I hope this helps a little.

Alan Voetsch
