Re: [APML] A Southern Gem--modified: floodlights at Ayers Rock?

Hi People:
I've been following the Ayers Rock discussion with interest because a trip
to photograph the southern hemisphere skies sounds like something I would
like to do. Interior Australia appealed to me a lot more than Chile because
of the language problem and political instability in South AMerica.

However, George's comments about floodlights around Ayers Rock brought me up
short. Is that really the case? How does anybody do any astrophotography
there? One of our San Francisco club members was there last year and she
didn't mention any floodlights.

Hope you can clear up my confusion...
