C'mon, Chris - a graded road and level area to set up? Where's the adventure
in that? Seriously, I have thought about Mt. Evans, but I'd have to go
through Denver freeways to get there, and it's really more fun to find
backcountry sites anyway. I'll bet somebody on the list has been up there,
though, and I'd be interested to know how it worked out (do you need
permission, is it public access, how much Denver's light dome is a factor,
etc.).

The one place I really want to try is the ghost town of Carson, at about
11,500 ft. right on the Continental Divide in the San Juans. I'll bet the
old ruins would make a nice backdrop for a star trails shot, or for a
composite like you did in AZ, in addition to being a very dark, high site.

Sincerely,
