Re: [APML] Results vs. expense (was New Pix by Robert Gendler)
Hi all,
Astrophotography has probably been the only thing in my life that I've
maintained a continuos passion for. The beauty, mystery and wonder of a deep
sky photo still amazes me, even after 35 years of interest in astronomy.
To me, it certainly is not about competition. A lot of your photos inspire
me to take better pictures. I have to take better pics by working harder or
longer but I do it because I love it.
Some months I have a hard time affording even film and processing. It's been
a good year if I can add a 201XT or Taurus Tracker to my arsenal.
But what makes it really worthwhile is looking at my 8 by 10's on the living
room wall and feeling the pride and satisfaction of knowing that "I did
that". I can't imagine a better high.
For me, this hobby has to be about love and passion not about spending big
bucks.
