Mike, thanks for the reply.

My hope was to retain the normal functionality of the cameras for other uses
besides astrophotography.  By creating "astrophoto" backs, drilled and
set-up for gas purging, one could simply put the original camera back on for
normal use, and switch them as needed.

I think I'll give it a try.  I'll post the results after I test it out.
