If you are using Picture Window, you might want to take a look at
this step by step technique for grain reduction. Once you know the
basic steps you'll find that you have a lot of flexibility in the
grain reduction technique. The basic concept is light masking to
the darker areas of the image for controlled blurring of only the
grainy portions.
