RE: [APML]: 2" Diagonals
The Astro-Photography Mailing List

My LX is mounted on the standard field tripod. It seems very stable in
the alt-azimuth, with less vibration dampening when on the super-wedge.
I've recently purchased a Losmandy balance system for it, although I not
sure I need it yet.
>From your statement it appears that the AP Max Bright is substantially
heavier than the other two. Rene Goerlich also recommends the AP
diagonal. The increase in brightness you mention must be caused by
better coatings.

2 " Diagnols
Having owned the Televue, Lumicon & now the AP max
bright I can tell U about
them. The Lumicon was the brighest before the AP max
bright came out. The
Televue held it mirror in better than the Lumicon.
The AP max bright is noticably brighter than the other
two. The locking
brass collar is a pleasure & doesn't mar either eyepiece
or extension tubes.
Considering the price and if your mount is not already
strained I would get
the Lumicon.
If I had a solid mount I would purchase the Astrophysics
max bright.
