The practical shelf life for film if kept refrigerated is greatly
improved over leaving it out at room temperature, and will extend it's
life way past the expiration date.
If film is kept frozen, it pretty much halts all Sensitometric Aging and
could be kept "fresh" for years. The secret is in the defrosting- make
sure that the film is warmed up slowly and in a sealed environment (like
sealed plastic bags and in it's original casette) to avoid condensation
getting on the emulsion.
Thanks,
