[APML]: ST-4 and the G-11

The Astro-Photography Mailing List
------------------------------------

I've been reading the recent threads on the 201XT, 208XT, and the ST-4
guiders used with mounts other than Meade. I own a G-11, and will be
looking to get an ST-4 sometime in the near future. With the
non-programable PEC drive of the G-11, is it possible to perform this
mundane exercise with the ST-4 in place, and ,making the corrections? It
seems to me that the error after using the guider would be a lot less than
those made by my fidgeting hand. I realize that the ST-4 box will allow
manual override as well, but why bother with that, when its accuracy is so
good to begin with?

Thanx,
