[APML]: Anyone Autoguiding a G-11 with a Pictor XT?
The Astro-Photography Mailing List
------------------------------------
Has anyone had any success autoguiding a G-11 or GM-8 with a Pictor 208XT or
216XT? A friend and I have been trying to get this to work without any luck.
I'd like to know if it works for anyone before I waste any more time trying
to debug it.
We've tried it with an Astro-Physics 80mm guide scope on a 130EDFS. We used
a flip-mirror to find guide stars. We've tried it with a computer and we've
tried it "stand along." The camera goes through calibration and acts like it
is guiding, but it is doing something strange. We've tried two different
cameras. Still no luck.
If it can't be made to work I'll take the loss and do the right thing and
buy an ST-4, but I had the camera from an aborted attempt with an LX200. I
eventually plan to use an Astro-Physics mount and Roland says they will be
plug compatible with the Meade cameras, so I hate to lose that much money if
it will eventually work with the AP. The Pictor works well on lunar imaging,
but I can't seem to get it to drive the Losmandy.
