[APML]:Radial Guider Prism Reflections

The Astro-Photography Mailing List
------------------------------------

Thanks to every one who helped me figure out what I photographed or what I
didn't photograph.
I am convinced that the horseshoe shaped object next to the bright star that
was on my film came from the prism on my radial guider (Orion Ultra Guider). I
left the front cap on it (the one that attaches to the scope) and took off the
eyepiece cap(no eyepiece in it) and the back cap and could see a bright
reflection on the shinny surface of the front cap comming from the eyepiece
holder.
I'm still not sure if it came from the bright star(Antares I think) or the
cross hairs on my Illuminated Eyepiece although I suspect the eyepiece.
Michael Richmann suggested adjusting the prism a little off axis to eliminate
the reflection BUT I'm not sure if I can adjust the prism on my Orion guider
in that way, I think I can just rotate it around the the field of view.
I have never been satisified with this guider, it seems too limited in its
ability to find a guide star with in the field of view of the camera. The
galaxy I thought I was photographing was not even on the film by the time I
found a good guide star.
Question 1, can my OAG be adjusted off axis?
Question 2, should I get another OAG?
Question 3, Which one should I get?
Thanks again, Bernie in Denver
