Re: [APML] Milky Way Mosaic
Hi Wade,
Very excellent. The colors are just outstanding.
If you feel like it, you could try this new program out there called
Autostitch at:
http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html
I put together a nighttime mosaic panorama at a Phillies game and it worked
amazingly well. I haven't tried it yet on an astro mosaic though.
Here's what makes it amazing... it blends the seams for tone and color and
it makes it seamless. It also corrects for distortion, at least in a
daytime scene, and makes the verticals vertical (I have no idea how it does
this, or what it would do to an image without vertical lines such as a
starfield).
And, it does all of this automatically. You just tell it the pictures you
want to put together, and it does the rest. It works much much better than
Photoshop's panoramic mosaic tool.
