Garden Ridge has 9 ft. diameter garden umbrellas for
$19.95. These are tall and large enough
that you can use them to block stray light
and/or minor wind gusts. You can 
set up for an exposure then set it right
next to the scope to block the wind. 
Laid over on its side it becomes a sturdy
tripod and could be staked down if needed.
In this configuration the umbrella is around
6-7 feet tall. During the day you can sit 
under it.
