Re: [APML] My First Composite

Gary - wonder if the background is too dark? I think this is a very rich area of stars and gas and the background would not be as black as it looks on my screen. Matter of taste so only a suggestion. I think in every other respect it is wonderful!

Subject: [APML] My First Composite

Hi All,
I sent some slides to Tony Hallas for scanning.  Two of them were of Orion from the winter.  One was 15 min. @ f4, the other 30 min. @ f5.6.  He scanned them, took an airplane trail out of one, and registered them in Registar.  I processed both in PixInsight LE and then combined in PS 7.0.  This is my first attempt at this so I would appreciate any tips/suggestions on this process.  I also used the PIP process outlined in the PixInsight tutorial and liked the outcome better than SMI.  You'll find it under "New Photos" here...
