Wei-Hao, I wish I had images like this lurking on my hard drive. Very
nice!
And luck is what I'll need to see stars this weekend. Maybe tomorrow
night.

Subject: [APML] new old picture, southern
Sco
Hi all,
I haven't taken any pictures for about half
year. This situation will
last for at least another year. Life
is so boring.
Fortunate enough, I found one unprocessed image
sitting in my
harddisk. It was not proceesed because it was supposed
to be
part of a mosaic but the other parts are never complete. I
made
a very quick and dirty process and found it is not too bad to
show
you. Here we go.

This
is a single exposure (no mosaic). It was taken in the summer
of 2003
on Mauna Kea under thin cirrus (if my memory is right).
The exposure time
is probably my typical 80 minutes. Telescope
is Pentax 105mm with
focal reducer (F5.1). Film is Konica
Centuria 400
Professional. I didn't do any fancy image processing
such as flat
fielding. To avoid the dark corners, it is about 80%
cropped.
I know it's not too impressive. But it's better than having
nothing
for fun. Hope you like it.
And good luck to everyone
who will hunt stars this weekend.
