RE: [APML] Re: Your message to Astro-Photo awaits moderator approval-is this SPAM?

Hello Frank,

I haven't a clue about your e-mail problem, which Gene will likely
dispatch with a quick and easy fix.
But I'm glad to see you're still here. I think you may have dropped off
the list for awhile, though I did see you post here some months ago. We go
wayyyyy... back on this list if you might remember. I hope at the time you
didn't misinterpret comments "about our own particular scope models", now so
long ago. The intended goal, at the time, was to iron out a way to progress
forward to much greater astrophotos, and the elusive goal very-long focal
length photos with no trailing!
As for me, I'm still reading the list but am some 1000+ messages behind
and did have to delete a few hundred messages sometime before the current
bunch.
I think I've been out shooting only once in the last year! And that's
with an additional new refractor and guide scope set-up at first light.
I'm worried we are running out of suitable astro-films. However, though I
absolutely love my daytime digital camera, I still find I just have no REAL
interest in switching to CCD for night imaging. I guess I'll be one of the
last dinosaurs when it comes to the ancient science/art of film. Anyway,
glad to see you're still here.

BTW Everyone, I haven't seen a posting from Jon Kolb in a long time, nor
Herm either.
I think I enjoy all the people and characters on this list as much as the
actual hobby itself. I enjoy their "in the field" stories and experiences
from around the entire world very much too. I don't get to see things like
"The Very Large Array", "Africa", "Chile", "Europe", "Tropical Islands which
look like actual Paradise on Earth" or even shots from all over "the entire
U.S., up north, to its East Coast, Florida, Texas, also Hawaii and Alaska",
and don't forget our friends in "Canada" and "Great Britain". Not to
mention "Central and South America", "East Asia", and our good "Aussie"
friends and seemingly countless others.
IMHO the "global reach and THE MEMBERSHIP" of the APML, even to quietly
relayed messages from Uzbekistan, and of all things, "The International
Space Station" is one of the APML's very most valuable, and most interesting
qualities!
This is a very cool list!

Ya'all take care out there as we slowly move forward through life, and
"Astrophotography" together, and of course the very Best Wishes to all,

Jim Vineyard
