Yes the lowered saturation is intentional on the first one. My personal
preference goes against the grain of the current style and I tend to
pull back on the saturation so that image is closer to what a person
would see in a telescope. As opposed to the more accurate colour
renditions that are portrayed on almost everyone elses pages.
It may also be a sub-concious preparation for shooting tech pan.
I do like what you did with the Sag shot, I will probably make similar
changes to my web site copy.
