I was shooting until almost 3:30 and saw nothing spectacular regarding
meteors. Not sure by 2300 PST if you mean 11 PM, or 2:30. At my
location (trees, hills, skyglow) M31 is not visible until well into the
morning. Matter of fact, it was my last prime focus shot, started at
2:05 AM and ended 75 minutes later. Anything near the core should show
up.
I also had a Polaris star trail shot going with a 28mm lens most of
that time so I should have captured any aurora in that vicinity. Not
developing until early next week though.
