I have been working as a betatester of PixInsight for
nearly a year. The program launched is a *final*
freeware release.It is fully operational (i.e. saves
your images), free, but limited, program. The full
version is still under development, but it follows
paralel patterns from the freeware release. PixInsight
LE, as it is today, will be forever free. It includes
histogram manipulations, curves, limited a-trous
wavelets, an improved SGBNR, SCNR, and a lot more.

We have tested PixInsightLE for a long time, but we
cannot ensure that it is 100% bug free. That's the
reason why we ask you to report them, as you would do
with any other freeware or comercial software.

PixInsightLE will be always free. There will be
another release of PixInsight (the standard one), that
includes a lot more tools and processes, and this one
is a comercial one. Just a few examples are Image
Integration, Deconvolutions, Register images, DDP,
Gaussian Blurs, real USM, etc.

As far as we have tested (Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, XP)
this doesn't happens. Anyway, if you have any trouble
with the key registry that PixInsightLE generates in
the Windows' Registry, there is a small aplication
included that deletes it. All you have to do then, to
unistall the program is to delete the main folder with
all the files inside.

PixInsightLE is a final version and not a betatester
release. It is a service to the astrophotographical
community, that helps in the task or reducing the
noise in the images, with very powerfull tools, and
the added values of histogram and curves processes,
along many other. The interface is the same of the
standard version.
As I said before, the standard version follows
parallel ways, and is a bigger proyect. If you, or
anybody, wants to be a betatester of that release,
please contact Juan.
