I have given up now on any thoughts of using the 500mm f8 mirror lens
for astro photography, and am exploring the standard telephoto lens of
araound the 200-300mm range. To that end,and to get some idea as to what
to expect..... if I may: I would like to ask Steve Lindsey if the image
of the "North American Nebula" taken with the Nikor 300mm is the full
frame or a selective enlargement as I am most impressed with what can
be achieved with a relatively short telephoto lens.
Thanks folks for the replies,I think I sort of knew what the responses
may have been :-)
