RE: [APML] Rho Ophiuchus Region

Jason,
I have not had any success with this region. I had hoped to give it a go
this year, but a number of factors have prevented imaging. Your guiding
looks good and so does the lens. I agree with Mike on the processing, it
looks green on my monitor. It also looks like there are some scanner
artifacts on the right side.

Hello all,

I was working on this region the past couple of weeks and here are the
results of my efforts so far. I'm using my new (for me) Zuiko 200mm lens,
and actually shot this image wide open at f/4. I had planned to frame it a
little better to get more of the dark nebula coming off to the left, but the
camera ball mount that I was going to use had the wrong thread size and so
the camera had to be mounted directly to the scope. This is a 30 minute
manually guided shot on E200 at 200mm f/4. I am glad to see that the stars
are pinpoint all the way to the corners...I like this lens.

Is it just me or is this area just really tough to photograph? This is 1 of
5 shots that I took..the other 4 weren't useable for one reason or another.
I also can't seem to bring the colors out while preserving the smokey look
of the dark nebula. I'm going to try again tonight on some of the Konica
Centuria film that I bought down at OPT this weekend (thanks, Chriss!).

Enjoy!
Jason
