Thanks Chris.  John's been giving me a lot of feedback that just about has me convinced the TEC is the way to go.  Haven't found a downside to that scope other than the wait.  Yes, I like the shorter f7 tube.  Don't know that much about the TOA130 or know any users.

The guy to ask about the TEC140 is John Boudreau.  He's using one to image
with.  I saw his scope in person and its a beauty!  Very compact and
portable.  The FT focuser is gorgeous.
The Tak's are always available and are excellent.  The FS128 is f/8 and not
as portable if that's a concern.  The reducer will bring it down to f/5.9.
The Tak TOA130 is also available in a reasonable amount of time.
