RE: [APML] Fuji Provia 400F and exposure time

Hello Nicola,
I know what you mean about wasting sky time. About 2 years ago I went
with extended exposures on an f8 system with E200 and Provia. I had
data ranging from one hour to 105 minutes. I was imaging at Cherry
Springs State Park in PA which is considered one of the best dark sky
spots in the eastern US. I found a negligible benefit with exposing
longer than 60 minutes. That is why I switched to an f6 system. My
advice is to shoot with optics as fast as you have for no more than 60
minutes, even under dark skies. Maybe a bit more than 60, say 70, but I
wouldn't waste much more time than that. One person's experience...hope
it helps.

Best regards,
Jeff Ball
