RE: [APML] June pictures ...

Hi, Philippe,

Ted Ishikawa at Hutech (www.hutech.com) sells a KEF that is customized to
your camera. You send him your camera and he adjusts the KEF to match what
you have. It's very reasonably priced, too. Probably a lot less than a spare
F4 body. When I did this, the camera (an FM) came back from Ted so quickly I
could hardly believe he had time to do the job. Of course we're both in the
US though he's on the west coast and I'm on the east coast. Still, I got it
back within a week which I thought remarkable. Shouldn't take too long from
Canada I would think. Works great, too. If you want a KEF, this is the way
to go. Other experienced AP-ers have commented that the Hutech unit is the
best on the market. Check it out.

Subject: [APML] June pictures ...

Hello,

The month of June has been a good month for the weather up here.
You can see my latest pictures there:
http://www.astrophoto.ca/en/new.html

It seems that my guiding improves a bit but I still have big
problems focusing my F4! The Hartmann mask is not precise enough so I
decided to try knife-edge focusing. I bought an extra OM-1 camera
body and made a knife-edge focuser following advices from Jerry
Lodriguss and Rockett Crawford web sites. You can see the first
prototype here: http://www.astrophoto.ca/en/focuser.html

My first attempt using it has not been successful because the
filmstrip I used was not flat. I should have seen it before but didn'
t. Do any of you have a suggestion on a replacement for film as the
knife-edge? All advices on knife-edge focussing are very
welcome!

Thanks and clear skies,

P.
