Hey thanks for the comment, Scott.
I remember in the movie "Dirty Harry" the opening scene had Harry foil a
bank robbery. Toward the end of the scene one of the robbers lay wounded on
the sidewalk with his shotgun close by. Harry had his mighty .44 magnum
pointed at the robber and they went through this song and dance about
whether or not Harry had shot 5 or 6 shots from his six shot revolver. The
robber eventually decided to give up and Harry began to walk away. But the
robber called back and said "hey, I gots to know". That's the major problem
for me with film: "I gots to know" if I took a good shot or not and don't
know for several days: Antici........pation as they said in "The Rocky
Horror Picture Show".
I stopped it down two clicks. Thanks for confirming my suspicions on the
field rotation. Someone on another list suggested that I use a guide star in
the middle of the field of view. I don't recall where my guidestar was, but
I think it was somewhat toward the edge of my FOV.
My super secret plan is to use the Pentax on my AP180EDT at prime focus with
the AP field flattener and focal reducer. That's really why I bought the
camera, the field flattener is made specifically for this camera. They do
sell adaptors to let it work with ccd cameras too. But for a quickie first
test, particularly to figure out if that old Fuji HG was any good (it seems
to be), I just did a widefield piggyback. For a CCD-only guy, that big FOV i
s something else. Compare to the 2x1 mosaic I did of IC1396 with CCD in my
widest field of view CCD setup (FCT-76 @f/4.5 [F=350mm], ST10XME):

The FOV of that bad-boy 6x7 negative exposed through that 150mm lens is just
amazing given my frame of reference is just CCD.....
