 Yes... most definitely. I have the same scanner... bought a copy of VueScan 
about a month ago. Been learning the software with some daytime shots from 
the WSP and a 4th of July fireworks display. The f'works were on slide, but 
the auto focus couldn't get some of them sharply focused. VueScan gave me 
complete control over focus... and also offers many other great features such 
as multi-pass scanning etc. that the MiraFoto can't touch. I say get it... 
with what I'm learning on the pix I've done so far, I'm sure my astro stuff 
will show improvement as well!
