Thanks Jerry.

One other question whilst you're here - your eBook suggest trying to fool
the scanner by substituting a slide half and half under/exposed. Would it be
useful to photograp a greyscale calibration chart and using a slide of that
to "calibrate/fool" the scanner in autoexposure.

I've seen some of your pics - not bad at all - you must be doing something
right.
Thanks to Jerry's eBook I not only understand histograms but levels as well
now. (Just got to get my head round layers next :-)
