Thank you Chris, sorry for this reply but I was out for business last weeks.
I used mostly a combination with a fog image with a sky limit unfiltered
image because I like to get as much details as possible but this is just one
of the possibility you have. If you prefer to give more emphasis on the
constellation shape instead of having (too) much details then a ratio of 1:1
is better (i.e. a collection of constellation portraits).
Also in some cases you can just shot through the fog filter but you are
going to loose the more subtle details. I will upload more examples next
weeks but if you like this technique you can have a look also on Mario
Cogo's home page where you will see also example of 1:1 ratio or just fogged
shots.
