Well, well. I bet this might open a can of worms, but it has been
awhile so let's get things moving.
 
Because you have an LX200, we can discuss Meade guiders. Actually this
may be an issue for you too if you have a second imaging system like I
do. Meade cameras will not work with the Losmandy stepper motors. 

I have used the following cameras as autoguiders: 201XT, 208XT and
ST-4. Hands down the best all around of the 3 is the 201. I value ease
of use and stand-alone ability highly. The 201 will not image though,
so if you need that capability we can eliminate it. Among the other 2,
I would give the nod to the ST-4 for one reason: the 'boost' factor.
This allows a wider variety of guidestars to be used.

I have not used any of the cameras for imaging so I'm not qualified to
comment on that part.

As autoguiders only, the 201 is the best value by far. If you throw in
imaging capability and versatility, the ST-4 is probably the best.
