RE: [APML] Beginner scanner images
HI Jeff--yes, I looked at the histogram before uploading the file, and could
see it was clipped at the bottom end.
The scanner has a plethora of histogram adjustments available--maybe too many
for a beginner!
I prescanned, tweaked, and rescanned until the image looked good before doing
the final scan at 2820 dpi.
Maybe when I get home tonight I can do a scan which results the entire
gaussian
being displayed in the histogram,
and we can talk about how to deal with it off line.
I'm thinking maybe I ought to send the negatives to an expert like Tony for
scanning, and then just keep fiddling with
them at home until I can duplicate his results. Catch is--I'm a slow learner,
and I'm not very young!!
The image in the upper right corner on my web shots is E200 taken using the TV
Oracle at 0.8X, and the one in the lower right is RG200
thru the TV101 and IDAS filter.
BTW, in response to Geoff's question, changing DPI in Photoshop is just a
couple of mouse clix.
