Re: [APML] Diffusion Filter and Photoshop article

George,
I believe that it was Chris Schur that made mention of the fact that
Akira Fuji uses a nylon stocking as a diffuser for his work. This was the
reason why I brought it up. (but Chris didn't mention what colour!) A nylon
stretched over a needlepoint round wooden thingy might make a simple full
aperture filter, certainly simpler than rubbing two pieces of glass
together. Plus, while waiting for it to get dark, armed with a nylon
stocking you have all the tools you need to create your own Monty Python
sketch..... :-)

still waiting for perpetual twilight to end.....

Hi Don

You might (and this is only a guess) be able to make one by getting two
pieces of plate glass that are larger than the front of your scope. Use
one as a grinding surface and grind both sides of the piece to be used
as a filter with 5 micron aluminum oxide and water. I wouldn't go the
full grind but just enough to put a light haze on it. My reasoning for
doing both sides is to hopefully reduce ghost reflections.
