Hi Tony ( and others);

You guys are just advertising inthe wrong places! Seriously, you
are up against three porblems - limited market, the shipping on those
enlargers is a killer - although I missed your sale myself, otherwise I
might have taken you up on one - :( , and finally, colour darkroom room
- with the rare excpetion of people like Ctein doing colour dye transfer,
and a "couple" people still doing Cibachrome, all your darkroom work is
B&W anymore - or so it seems.

i remember starting to use B&W film as a child because at that
time, only "rich" peoepl could afford to use colour film. Now B&W is the
domain of "fine art" photographers, expensive galleries, etc. You now hear
terms like "silver rich gelatin prints" - I guess that is like calling
garbage men "sanatation engineers". :)

Anyhow, two places to sell your darkroom gear....

         1) Pure Silver
         FAQ: http://www.tundraware.com/Photography/Lists/FAQ.txt

         2) Large format
         http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/largeformat

The F32 web site also has it's own forms, including buy &
sell. Not saying you'll get much for it, but I do think you can find
buyers there. Fro example, I recent bought a used Nikkor 150mm for around
$100 Cdn ($70 US), used, in good but not mint shape. Years ago, those
lenses sold brand new for $750 Cdn. So the market is there, just not the
prices - yet. I think give it ten years,a nd you will see prices
jump. Right now, there's a flood on the market, but things change.

Liek I said here before, when I go to used camera shows, once or
twice a year, anything large format is being snapped up pretty quick. For
every new person going LF, you got 100,000 peoepl goign digital, but the
gear is disappearing. In the fast, a used lens board might of cost me a
dollar, a single dollar - now it $25 - if you can find one,a nd that's for
one in bad shape too. Ten eyars ago there was a flood of used LF gear on
the market, but not today.

It's kinda like - well for example horse farms. All the wealthy
around here have horse forms - there was a report on the news, there are
more horses in our county today than there was 100 years ago, even though
the car has replaced horse and buggy.
         go figure?

On a toally different topic - and - gasp! - on topic no less, I
see a mount on ebay at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2937653611&category=28181

Never heard of this mount myself. has anyone else?
anytime
joe

PS - Tony - if you have any of those enlarging lenses you ever want to get
rid of....
:)
