Next July 4-5-6, there's going to have a gathering of amateur astronomers at Mt-Mégantic , ~ 250km to the south of the city of Quebec, close to the American border. It is the only time of the year where one can observe to the eyepiece of the 63" telescope situated at 1105 meters in altitude .... in other times, this telescope is dedicated to the scientific research. Last year I observed M- 57, not need to tell you that I saw the central star ;) even that I could see nebulosities around this planetary nebula , WOW !!! I also photographed an aurora borealis that you can see a picture here with the observatory view from outside
http://astrosurf.com/aurores/megantic.htm I make 3 hours of road there for me to return, then if you have the taste to make the road to observe in a 63".... Vermont it is also about 3 hours of road!
Clear
skies!!!
