the 48 inch Schmidt took glass plates 14 inches by 14 inches. Every region was
covered with red sensitive and blue sensitive emulsions. The palomar survey was
contacts made directly from the glass plates. I have a couple prints. They are
gorgeous!!\
Those, with Hubble shooting with his English accent and haughty ways were the
glory days of astronomy.
