You all might find this
interesting... I was under the impression that the UMAX 3000 would be able to
scan like the SS120... an order came in with some rather dark astro slides... I
tried every trick in the book to get clean output from the UMAX... to no avail.
The very first scan through the SS120 produced perfect output... almost no noise
in the deep shadows... bottom line, I am going to keep it. The SS35+ and UMAX
3000 are no substitute for this scanner.
